Rainbow Friends: What Does Yellow Do?

Oct 31, 2023

Yellow is one of the Rainbow Friends monsters that could easily take if you are not careful enough with your moves around it.

As a co-op horror experience set in a doomed theme park, Rainbow Friends invites players to embark on a dangerous adventure. This is a multi-stage game where players enter the theme park in groups of 15, but there is no guarantee for how many would survive in the end.

The biggest threats in the theme park are roaming giants, who are seemingly the results of a series of unsuccessful experiments performed by a mad evil who controls all the horrors you witness in the theme park. Each of these monsters attacks differently and is simply named by their color.

Yellow is the monster that appears in Stage 2. Once you collect all the light bulbs and deliver them to Laser Tag, you will trigger the second stage, which will add Yellow as a new roaming giant to the map, next to Blue and Green. Yellow is in fact a flying monster, but it doesn't fly when roaming on the map, however, you can see the chopper blades on its back, which start to work as soon as Yellow catches someone.

Unlike Blue or Green which will eat you out as soon as they catch you, players indeed have a chance to survive Yellow. Once Yellow catches you, it flies into the air passing above multiple locations. In the meantime, you will receive a message from your master, telling you not to drop until there is something safe beneath you to land on.

That safe place is actually the small trampoline box next to the Ferris Wheel. If you drop onto the trampoline, you will survive the attack, but you need to have a quick reaction as Yellow flies over it quite fast. So, the timing of your jump is key. If you can't land on the trampoline, you will not survive.

Similar to other monsters, Yellow will stay inside the theme park until the end of the game. It's not as fast as Cyan on the ground, and it doesn't have the big attack range of Green. So, if you keep your distance from Yellow, you won't be in danger.

There is one last thing, however, that you need to be careful about Yellow, and it is the moment it lands after killing a player. So, you always need to keep an eye out above your head when you hear Yellow flying, as it could just land in front of you and catch you off guard.
